Apple announces “Air Drop” for iOS # WWDC2013
As part of the WWDC 2013, Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering, announced that the file transfer system for devices with OSX will make an appearance in iOS from version “7″.
AirDrop is a whole new way to share content quickly and easily with people who are nearby. When a user has something to share, it will show the contacts that are nearby at the time. You only have to choose who to share and AirDrop will handle the rest. The AirDrop transfers are between devices, so you can use it anywhere because it requires access to a network or configure anything. Moreover, as the transfers are encrypted, the content that is shared is protected at all times.
The application will be available with “iOS7″ in Apple mobile devices fourth generation.
