Apple receives patent on the original iPad design
On January 26, 2010, one day before the launch of the first iPad, Apple began efforts in the USPTO – United States Patent and Trademark Office – to get the design patent unveil the device 24 hours.
After more than two and a half years, Apple on Wednesday received official notification of the award of the patent alluding to the “ornamental design for a portable display device, as shown and described”, which – essentially – a new delivery powerful weapon and the lawyers of the Californian company to continue suing other manufacturers – cough cough … Samsung – that infringe their intellectual property rights in case so required.
The patent as inventors put Jonathan Ive, Steve Jobs and 12 others, and makes design references dating back to 1947 even as sustenance.
