Facebook data suggest that more than 4 million phones sold with Windows Phone

A couple of weeks ago Microsft CEO said “And we’re selling more phones than four times over the same period last year.” Later, we all wondered what was then “referred specifically to ‘four times’?”

The answer could be a method described last year by The Next Web site to determine the number of users of based on a ratio of the number of devices sold and the number of monthly active users of the Facebook application for that operating system (a user of Facebook for every phone sold 6.756), which gave excellent results to forecast sales late last year.

Site People WMPoweruser , using as a guide to users of the Facebook application, stated that we see 627,000 monthly active users since the first of October 2012. In contrast, last year this same figure was less than 150,000 users, agreeing with the statement that 627,000 Ballmer and is almost four times 150,000.

Based on this figure, Microsoft would take about 4,236,012 phones sold in the fourth quarter, which would demonstrate the growing popularity of mobile Redmond company.
