Gap decreases with Google Play App Store developers about earnings
While the Android market segment far surpasses iOS, there is a general consensus that the latter is the one with the greatest benefits for application developers.
One of the companies that are dedicated to analyzing this type of information is Distimo, which released a report revealing that the combined proceeds going to Developers in the two most popular app stores, App Store and Google Play, the latter represented 27% of the profits, while the Apple App Store garnered 73%.
That if, and as seen in Figure
badly done by Distimo , Play Google gains have increased from 19% from the App Store in November 2012, to 27% in the past month, which would mean an increase by 9%.
Should be clear that this trend is justified in part because many developers release their apps exclusively for the App Store. However, there are many applications for both operating systems released anyway to get more revenue through the App Store than Google Play as “Candy Crush Saga” and “The Simpsons: Tapped Out”.
