The design of our LG Prada 3.0 exudes elegance and style where you look. The color black is the main protagonist, along with some chrome sides combine well.
The type of material that covers much of the equipment is plastic, but this is a sturdy plastic and note that is of good quality. Unfortunately the screen is a fingerprint magnet, something that is sure to upset many.
But we begin to examine the design piece by piece:
In front-side we find its 4.3-inch screen at the top we see the front camera of 1.3 megapixels, the PRADA logo, headpiece and the light sensors and proximity. At the bottom we find the 3 touch keys: Options, Home, Back and Search.
On the back of the computer see the logo of LG and PRADA, then we see the 8-megapixel camera and LED flash, ending by mentioning the team’s main speaker.
When removing the battery cover, which also integrates the NFC antenna, we can find your external battery BL-44JR and SIM card reader and MicroSD cards.
Laterally, specifically on the left side, we see only the volume keys, while on the right side we see nothing.
Above we see the 3.5mm phone jack audio output, then we see a key that only serves to activate the front camera, ideal for use as a mirror (?), Then we see the MicroUSB port, which is protected by a cover sliding and finally we see another key that can lock and unlock the screen.
And below we see the main microphone and two team caps with star shapes and protect screws that are below these caps.
The camera of LG Prada 3.0 is 8 megapixels and is capable of 1080p Full HD video at 30 frames per second and integrating different options to further improve the quality of images and videos. It is also accompanied by a dual LED flash powerful, well-targeted for your photos or videos night, among other options that will improve the outcome.

With the LG Prada 3.0 you can view your videos and / or favorite movies in Full HD, in addition to support for video playback DivX HD. Plays a large amount of files, which you the detail below:
Audio: MIDI, 3GPP, AAC, AC3, AAC +, eAAC +, AMR, amr-nb, amr-wb, IMY, M4A, MMF, MP2, MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPG, WAV and WMA.
Video: 3GP, ASF, AVI, SWF, MKV, MOV, MP4, MPG, WMV and VOB.
Codecs: H.263, MPEG4, H263, H263 +, H264, XviD, MS-MPEG4, WMV7, WMV8, WMV9, WVC1, DivX, DV, Flash Video, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG4.
The audio player that features our protagonist is exactly the same as we have known in other line equipment Optimus LG. Turning the computer landscape mode, the GUI switches to a view of 3D album covers. One can select an album and the computer will display a list of songs that correspond to the album you selected, and all this very neat and fast.
To improve sound quality, our hero has 21 pre-equalized profiles that will detail below:
- Virtual Surround
- Bass Amplifier
- Bypass pure
- R & B
- Xtra Bass
The player also has the typical options for repeat or random play, besides having the option to create your own playlists.
The FM Radio has a fairly simple graphic design to my liking, but functional. The signal reception is very good, audio quality is also potential volume and doing very well too. Technology includes RDS (Radio Data System), has good reception but I think it makes a little mistake, as the scrolling text information received from the station, is repeated as to be receiving more information. Then, the text does not move completely finished and therefore can not finish reading the information sent by the transmitter.
The good news is that it has unlimited memory to store all the radio stations that the team found.
The video player that incorporates our protagonist is fast, it works correctly, supports AVI, MKV, WMV, DivX, XviD, MP4, VOB, MPG, 3GP. Supports videos with a maximum resolution of 1920 X 1080 and 30 frames per second and up to 60 frames at 1280 X 720 resolution. You can enable or disable subtitles and change the image aspect. It also incorporates the effect of Virtual Surround audio.
The LG Prada 3.0 GPS works great. With its A-GPS (Assisted GPS), logged in just 8 seconds being outdoors and almost 2 minutes with normal GPS (without internet connection)
Like all devices with Android, includes Google Maps and Navigation for using the GPS. Google Maps works well, is very fluid when scrolling through the maps and you can have 3D view and use the digital compass which incorporates our protagonist. Google Navigation does not work in Chile, but if one seeks more information on Google, achieve it to work.
The display of our protagonist is the IPS type LCD of 4.3 inches and has a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. It has 16 million colors on a screen presentandos with an aspect ratio of 16:10 (wide format). The multi-touch screen is capacitive type and the sensitivity that has the display is quite good, I must say. The response speed is also very good and I met the famous effects “ghosts.” The screen visibility outdoors is not all good, though if you increase the screen brightness to maximum, you’ll have a better visibility, especially on cloudy days.
The LG Prada has a 3.0 headset and a main speaker.
The headset delivers a good sound when you’re on a call. Can not hear audio and saturated sound is quite crisp, even if you have the volume to maximum.
3.0 The Prada has a single speaker, so the audio received is in Mono. The speaker is located on the back of the computer, so it is very easy to be covered with a flat surface while the audio plug.
The sound quality offered by the speaker is good, you deliver clear sound with low to fail to appreciate very well. The speaker is not saturated at all if one selects the volume to maximum, which should be emphasized.
Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 is the version of operating system which operates the LG Prada 3.0. The good news is that this team should get the update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and that your hardware is supported, but that’s up sharply from LG.
The system works very, very fast walk and I must say that I thought it would not run so well, but the team surprised me. At no time gets slow and I dare say you have a very similar experience to be with a computer with 1.2 GHz processor
We also noticed the Prada UI customization of white and black fills almost the entire interface and adds a touch of elegance and also combined with our own design team.
The home screen is fully customizable by the Prada UI interface and features up to 7 fully customizable desktop wallpapers with 11 and 10 animated backgrounds. You can also add widgets (some of them made the Prada UI interface) and shortcuts to your applications.
The Contacts menu remains the same as the other androids, did not differ as other menus. All functions remain the same. You can add a lot of information to a contact. Some of them are: First, Last, add image, number, email, IM address, groups ringtone, management, organization, notes, alias, web site, birthday and anniversary.
The Multimedia Gallery has no major changes, continues to occupy the design of Cooliris .
And other applications menu
Here you can see the main menu of equipment which is modified by the Prada UI interface.
Over here you can see the setup menu:
On this side we have the notification bar:
And here we have the numeric keypad:
The LG Prada 3.0 features Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 3.0, UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC and DLNA.
In addition the team is able to support GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and GPRS EDGE UMTS HSDPA HSUPA 900/1900/2100.
The team has good signal reception, though I could not prove what it was like in the data transfer, as the only team I was operating on GSM GPRS EDGE because my current 3G network operator works on 850MHz, a frequency that does not support the LG Prada 3.0.
However, if I could test the Wi-Fi equipment and must say it worked very well and good speed. I tried via DLNA media playback and playback was excellent, just to mention that the start was slow, but the rest well.
We tested the Prada Bluetooth 3.0 3.0 transferring an MP3 file of 5.4 MB between our protagonist and Lumia Nokia 800 and the transfer was completed – according to our stopwatch – in 57 seconds.
The external battery of our protagonist is Li-Ion 1500 mAh at 3.7 volts to operate. According to the manufacturer, the battery provides an autonomy of 330 hours of standby mode 2G and 330 hours in 3G. While on calls you get 4 hours 20 minutes in 2G mode and 5 hours in 3G mode.
We tested the battery performance, starting charging the battery by leaving overnight. At 06:30 in the morning turn on the computer and it connects to internet immediately and so is the whole day. On leaving home, (06:45 – 97% battery) connect my Bluetooth headset and leave the player playing music with standard, while on the road doing my job I receive some emails and mentions on Twitter. (07:30 – 82% battery) came to the office and let the computer desktop on standby throughout the afternoon and sometimes I WhatsApp or chatting by using Twitter. (17:30 – 39% battery), I leave the office, connecting my Bluetooth headphones and listening to music again, while I’m using Twitter and WhatsApp. (19:00 – 18% battery) came to my house and (20:15 – 10% battery) the cellular and begins to realize that they need to recharge the battery.
In short, the battery lasts about 14 hours.
Final opinion of the Author
The LG Prada 3.0 is a very elegant, stylish … and of course, if a team that has the exclusive Italian fashion label Prada.
The team is very light, comfortable to wear and is quite thin. Unfortunately, your screen is a fingerprint magnet, something that many of us uncomfortable. That if the quality of materials note that is good, although the team is made of plastic.
I liked the sound quality that has the time to listen to music through headphones, although not allow you to equalize the equalizer to your liking, but they appreciated the 21 profiles that brings pre-equalized and improve the sound.
The quality of the screen to my taste is good, has excellent brightness and contrast, which makes it look very clear and the colors are vivid and stand out.
I also liked the Prada UI customization, see the Android interface but with black and white colors really caught my attention that detail.
Would I buy this team? My answer is NO, only for two reasons: Not compatible with my 3G network operator and the Prada brand, at least here in Chile is seen as a brand for women, the truth is that it bothered me a bit when I had to use the computer as if it were mine.
At the moment there is no estimated date for the team to come to some operator in Chile.
- Good camera
- Good design
- Good screen
- Will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich
- We liked the Prada UI interface
- Fairly complete computer
- Screen is a fingerprint magnet
- The battery life could be better
- Does not work with 3G networks in Chile (except Entel)
- Sounds that come by default are very monotonous and do not have the appropriate volume.
