The 4X Optimus we got to try is completely white, mixed with some chrome colored edges, which results in a sleek and stylish.
The back of the computer has a remarkable texture that gives the LG Optimus style 4X and also allows you a better grip. This smartphone is very thin, lightweight and its size does not bother at all the time to be bringing in his pockets.
We detail each piece of equipment below:
Head-on we can see the 4.8 inch screen which unfortunately is addicted to fingerprints and that bothers a lot. Continuing on the bottom, we see three touch keys, Back – Home – Options, which are completely invisible when the backlighting is off. And on top we see the logo of the brand, the handset, the front camera and the light and proximity sensors.
In the back of Optimus 4X, we can see its 8 megapixel camera accompanied by a LED flash. Below we see the company logo on the back and bottom and find the main speaker.
Removing the back cover, which serves as an antenna for the same NFC-we find the battery of 2050 mAh and above is the conventional SIM card reader and a MicroSD card reader.
For the sides, mainly on the left side-just see the volume key.
On the right side we find not only, with a texture prism that includes the equipment on both sides.
Above the 4X HD to see the 3.5mm audio output, a second microphone to calculate the ambient noise during a call or to make a video recording with stereo sound, and finally see the on/off, which also serves to lock/unlock the screen.
And finally, in the bottom we see the Micro USB port along the main microphone.
8 megapixels is what gives you the integrated camera of the LG Optimus 4X, which also lets you Full HD video with stereo sound. The team also features an LED flash so you can capture pictures or videos when there is low light.
Photos with a maximum resolution of 3264 X 2448 pixel screen is capable of capturing the Optimus 4X. Plus you have several options to further improve the final image quality and digital zoom up to 4x. We also have a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calls.
Available resolutions of the camera are:
- 3264 X 2448 4:3 8M
- W6M 3264 X 1836 16:9
- 2560 X 1920 4:3 5M
- 3M 2048 X 1536 4:3
- W3M 2304 X 1296 16:9

Like any camera you can configure it with various options for improving quality. For example, you can set the ISO, focus, brightness, scene mode, white balance, color effects, enable or disable a timer, LED flash, geo tagging, shutter sound, and more.
Here are some pictures taken with the Optimus 4X HD:

The multimedia area which includes Optimus 4X is not complete. Not only integrates a different player for music, photos or videos, also has a Media Center where you can view photos, listen to music and watch your favorite videos in one application.
The player also integrates 4X aside to just play music. No big news, only incorporates the typical features such as playback controls, repeat options, shuffle, etc..
The novelty is that now includes audio effects supported by Dolby Mobile.
The sound quality is very good, it has powerful bass and volume output of acceptable, but the interface of gray and I did not like at all, but it is a matter of taste of each.
The FM tuner is quite similar to that integrate other models like the Optimus 3D and 2X. It has the ability to save up to 40 stations and includes 6 customizable shortcuts to access a station from a tap.
Unfortunately for information incorporates RDS station currently being listened to. However, the signal reception is pretty good or at least was so in the area where I was doing the tests.
Over here if we have major changes, since this player can change the size of the screen, browse the list of your other videos while playing one.
Also while you’re playing a video, you can slide the playhead and in it you will see a small window with video in real time. Also you can change the playback speed.
What’s more, you also have the effect of Dolby Mobile to enhance and improve the sound of your music videos or movies.
This application lets you play all your media from one place. The player is basic in function, but if you like having everything together, this app is for you.
The browser incorporates Optimus 4X is the same as integrating Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with the difference that it is customized by LG interface.
As every browser, you can open several windows at once, you support Adobe Flash Player, HTML5, save favorites, browse mode
porn incognito, and so on.
4.8 inches is the size of the screen of your LG Optimus 4X. True HD is type-IPS LCD, HD has a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels, 16 million colors and 312 ppi pixel density, in addition to the protection Corning Gorilla Glass.
The response speed of the screen is great, like the excellent and powerful delivery screen brightness which impressed me. The famous “ghost” appeared or is here and the colors are outstanding and vivid. Outdoor visibility is very good, it looked great being outdoors in broad daylight cloudy.
The only downside is that fingerprints are all stuck and that annoys the user.
4.0.3 Android Ice Cream Sandwich is the operating system to operating the LG Optimus 4X also be completely customized by Optimus UI 3.0 interface.
The system runs fine when started supplementing because when you start it gets a bit slow, but then runs perfect.
In this new version of Optimus UI, we found various new animations that go well fluid. For example, turning the team also makes the screen along with an animation, which does not happen with Android Gingerbread.
Will Android 4.1 be upgraded to Jelly Bean? The truth is that we have such information, but if the competition if you are upgrading, do not see why it does not receive this update, though of course … we all know the serious problem with LG with updates, a subject which is fairly criticized.
Menu and Interface
Over here are the expected menu offers the 4X, although it is customized by me:
It can take up to 7 customizable desktop wallpapers and motion, widgets and shortcuts from your computer applications or functions.
On this side can see the main menu of the team:
I present this side the configuration menu:
And here is the notification bar where you can change each icon and function that satisfies:
The LG Optimus 4X HD is very complete in terms of connectivity, since it has Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, A-GPS, NFC, DLNA, Wi-Fi Hotspot and Bluetooth 4.0. It is also compatible with the vast majority of operators in the world, since it can operate on 2G GSM GPRS EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS HSDPA HSUPA networks 850/900/1900/2100 3G.
In a story we tested signals how he behaved with my operator and Wi-Fi. While using the computer as if it were mine, I had no signal problem when I moved from one place to another. Calls are heard well and the other person said I listened well, so I will believe in his word. So I can say with the 3G mobile internet as both 2G where I work very well.
On the other hand we have the Wi-Fi, this is compatible with 802.11 a/b/g/n, so no problems trying to connect to a network. The signal reception was pretty good and so was when I was transferring data. Using the DLNA system cuts were not produced in multimedia playback, including full HD video.
Did someone say Bluetooth? We tested it and nothing more, nothing less than your enemy No. 1: The Samsung Galaxy SIII which also has Bluetooth 4.0. We tried downloading an MP3 of 4.3 MB and the transfer was completed in 43 seconds. Personally I thought it would be a little faster.
We could also test the GPS that takes almost nothing to connect using the Assisted GPS. Only took 4 seconds to find my position being outdoors, and about two minutes using only the GPS without mobile internet.
The accuracy was pretty good, the error of my supposed location was practically zero.

The battery of our Optimus 4X is Li-Ion 2150 mAh, which operates at 3.8 volts. According to the manufacturer the equipment can withstand up to 730 hours of standby mode 686 hours in 2G and 3G mode. In the case of calls, the duration is 20 minutes to 9 hours in 2G mode and 10 hours with 50 minutes in 3G mode.
Since I was testing the phone as if it were mine, obviously I tested the battery and not really happy with the autonomy it delivers.
When I turn on the computer earlier in the day, it automatically connects to the mobile internet and so is the whole day. In the morning when I travel to the office, I listen to music with your computer using Bluetooth headset and occasionally I use social networks. Then I get to the office and leave the 4X on the desktop and so is much of the day to receive notifications, chatting from time to time by WhatsApp, using social networks, seeing the email, etc.. But at 16:00 hrs our hero and we began to notice that the battery is low and you connect to the charger.
While other smartphones battery lasted me until a little after 20:00 hrs giving the same use, the Optimus 4X only lasted us a little after 16:00 hrs, something I do not understand the knowledge that has a battery 2150 mAh.
In short, the battery lasts about 10 hours, being with an internet connection and continuous use.
Final opinion of the Author
The LG P880, better known as Optimus 4X HD smartphone is a very complete, very similar to Samsung Galaxy SIII (its main competitor) in terms of features. The team is fast, the camera is good quality, the screen has a brightness that makes it powerful colors look vivid and the sound quality offered as I made it.
Recall that this equipment is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3, which assumes that you would reduce energy consumption, but unfortunately the battery only lasted me 10 hours, I did not like at all. I imagine that the battery of the unit that we had perhaps is bad because I can not understand the short duration of autonomy offered me. If you really have that battery life, hopefully with a future update can solve the high energy consumption ..
Would I buy this team? If your phone has battery life really that we touched on this review, obviously I did not buy it, otherwise I would buy it if it is complete in features and quality of equipment.
- Display quality and brightness that offers powerful
- NVIDIA Tegra 3
- Quad-core Processor
- Good quality camera
- Full connectivity
- Battery life
- Could have GLONASS
- Screen addicted to fingerprints
