Sony: No update to ICS for the Xperia Play, for the rest yes
Sony confirmed on his blog that have decided to quit without updating to Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich – leaving thousands of users with the unfulfilled promise of an update that will never arrive.
The rationale for this decision is nothing more than the inability to offer a consistent experience in games, which eventually caused the Japanese decided not to release an official update to Ice Cream Sandwich.
This can mean two things: One, that Sony is retiring very early to an irregular pattern of sales around the world giving up specialized phones for games. Two, it settled to launch a new model with better features to force renewal.
But not everything is bad for computer users Xperia 2011, as all other models launched last year will be updating as planned. So, users arc Xperia, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, mini pro Xperia, Xperia pro active and Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman receive updates from around the world to secure the next week … Of course, if your operator and approved the software.
The above date Xperia arc S, Xperia and Xperia neo V ray will also see a new download that, as others, will leave in 4.0.4.
