The new IOS 7 v / s What Jelly Bean Android currently offers
Well, finally got the seventh version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 7 expected by many, but ended up disillusioned several.
I followed closely the presentation of iOS 7 and while they were presenting the supposed “news”, I was agreeing at the same time seeing that in another operating system called Android, Apple’s main rival.
But before we begin, let’s see the video again where iOS is officially presented to 7 for you to be a day of “new things” that brings this operating system:
While you were watching the video, did it not family did some things and seeing them in another OS? For my self, since the design of iOS 7 is rather like Holo, the interface created by Google and was implementaba from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
In fact, when I saw the lock screen, I said “that’s equal to Android”, and here I leave shown:
Then we saw how great new iOS Multitasking function 7 which now supports all applications and not just certain apps. But that’s what we have been seeing for quite some time ago with Android, and Symbian OS much sooner.
Anyway, that’s not all, because the design from the original Palm Multitasking is. If you do not believe me, look at the next picture and I believe.
Another application we saw absolute novelty was the weather app, which now had a revamped interface with animations that are displayed according to the current climate. It was well nice and the change from the previous version, it was noticeable, but unfortunately was already available on Android for quite some time, including animations.
Another interesting development in iOS 7 is the new AirDrop, a function that allows you to share any image or any song with any friend who is close to you. Well, again this is nothing new because Android and Samsung have Group Play application that works almost like AirDrop. In the case of Android, also has that same option, which works across NFC, something that Apple users do not know.
Safari, the web browser of iOS also brings news, because now you synchronize passwords with the desktop browser, as well as bring lashes, and as a great innovation, it also incorporates the famous mode
Porno Private to navigate anywhere, without being registered with browsing history. But guess what … all the news of Safari, were already available for quite some time with the Android browser and then Chrome.
Also used to introduce Apple iTunes Radio, to hear the songs that are housed in the large iTunes library, and if you like what you hear, you buy it. Now, if you want to listen without paying anything, you have to endure several commercials, but so pay in iTunes Match, be free is this advertising.
Well, we have Google Android Music that does exactly the same but does not have a version that is free of charge, so here we recognize that it is better iTunes Radio, but you have to see if the giant Google would think to do something like below, in response to what Apple introduced us at the launch of iOS 7.
Mmm …. here we find a facelift, rather than new features. We just have a new design of camera apps and some other detail punctual. Well ok, if there are some new things as filters for your photos or Square mode.
In contrast, when Android 4.2 came, we had the main novelty to photosphere, which allows us to take fantastic photos with an angle of 360 °, special effects and filters that were a while, and a small change in the design of the functions of the camera.
I must admit that I liked the visual effect, I have seen something similar on Android, but I can not remember. However, this was already available for quite some time for iOS users. This is the app called Deepend, which is only available in Cydia for over two years.
Watch the following video from 35 seconds upwards and you’ll see how you get the same 3D effect Apple stands as a novelty.
Notification Center and Control
This is definitely one of the best things that has Android and Apple obviously got to be in iOS 7, so some features copied and modified a little, so that the copy is not so blatant, apart from separate notifications aside and control options on the other.
In iOS 7 if one slips from above (like Android), you’ll find all the notices that the team has to show.
But if one slips from below, meets the Control Center, and compare if you really look or not what Android already offered quite some time ago.
On this side also had a major interface change with respect to the previous version of the apple App Store. Obviously I will not get to compare app stores other OS because they all resemble each other. But Apple mentioned with great fanfare that the option to automatically update apps downloaded, something that Android already had long ago, so in that new zero issue.
This is the first time that Apple’s mobile operating system undergoes a sudden change since previous versions are nearly identical among all (in my opinion).
But so long waiting for this big change and instead of being happy with the change, we were all somewhat … disappointed. Personally childish found the new look of iOS, as both color and so clearly saturate a bit. And not only do I think what I just wrote above, since many people have expressed the same, even Apple fans.
I personally thought that this time would innovate as it once did when Steve Jobs introduced us to the famous iPhone where everything was different to that offered by the competition of the time, something new and innovative. I feel that Apple missed the opportunity of a lifetime to return to innovate, and instead, set about reviving old projects (signal in the form of balls, as seen on ancient prototypes) and copy the best of competition and change it to his style, so that the copy is not so blatant.
Now with this will leave the way clear for Google to have the opportunity to really innovate with the next version of Android, an opportunity that Apple failed to capitalize.
And finally, be stressing what you think many people, myself included: Apple, you’re not the same without Steve Jobs.Tags: Android, Apple, guerra santa, holy war, ios7, iPhone, Jelly Bean, Operating Systems, Sistemas Operativos
